Our dedicated and international team at the Ski School in Lofer is here for you every day during the winter season. With our solid knowledge and extensive experience, we support you – whether you want to learn to ski in the Almenwelt Lofer or improve your technique. Each of us brings a deep passion for winter sports and has completed top-notch training through the Austrian Ski Instructors' Association. Regular further training sessions and weekly practice under the guidance of Christoph Sturm, the ski school director and state-certified ski instructor, ensure that our team is always up to date.

Our History
The Ski School Sturm has a long-standing tradition in skiing. As early as 1907, the great-grandfather of the current owners began producing his own skis and ski poles, exporting them to South Tyrol and Germany. Back then, he was a true pioneer in the skiing world – today, his great-grandsons Wolfgang and Christoph Sturm would surely be proud of his legacy!
Senior manager Erich Sturm was one of the co-founders and promoters of Austrian ski racing. From 1976 to 1980, he served as the coach of the Austrian Women's National Team, playing a crucial role in the success of the legendary athlete Annemarie Moser-Pröll, who won a gold medal at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.

With deep sadness and immense gratitude, we bid farewell to Erich Sturm in February 2024, our beloved father and founder of the Ski School Sturm in Lofer in 1987. Erich was not only a valued member of our team but also a friend and mentor to many of us.
His passion for winter sports and tireless dedication will always be remembered fondly. Erich inspired countless skiers with his expertise and warm-hearted nature, making it easier for us all to enjoy the slopes. His commitment and friendly demeanor have made the Ski School Sturm what it is today. He was always ready to share his knowledge and taught us all through his professionalism and example.
Thank you, dear Erich, for all the wonderful years of collaboration, for your friendship, and for the many beautiful memories we shared. Your legacy will live on in our hearts, in our work, and in our daily actions.
